Radiesse Tampa

Looking into getting Radiesse in Tampa?

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse filler is a quick working and long lasting solution for moderate to severe wrinkles. The injectable dermal filler was approved by the FDA in 2006 and has become a sought after alternative to surgical facelift procedures. Although surgical procedures such as fat transfer offer more permanent solutions, Radiesse has become a safe and long lasting substitute to non-surgical facelifts.

Instead of using the typical chemicals you would expect to find in most other dermal fillers, Radiesse is made of a water based gel that contains calcium microspheres. The calcium based microspheres are similar to minerals found naturally in our own bodies; our teeth and bones. After 10 years on the market, the filler has established itself as a reliable and beneficial alternative to other fillers.

Why choose this type of filler?

There are several dermal fillers on the market today. Radiesse is different in that it doesn’t use hyaluronic acid like most other injectables. Instead, Radiesse is made of natural gels and works closely with your own body to smooth out wrinkles and promote healthier skin.

How Does It Work?

A small needle injects the filler under the skin. The affects are both immediate and long lasting, making it an attractive choice to other fillers on the market. The treatment works in 2 ways:

[1] Immediate – The effects of Radiesse Filler are noticeable almost instantly. Calcium Hydroxyapatite is the substance used in the injectable and it works to add volume under the skin. This will give your skin a plump and firm look immediately.

[2] Long Term – Radiesse achieves long term results but stimulating your bodies natural production of collagen. These results have been shown to last for a year or more in many patients.

Benefits of Radiesse Filler

It has the benefit of working immediately and maintaining results long term. There are few injectables or fillers on the market that can offer both results.

Because the filler promotes collagen production in your own skin, it will last longer than most other fillers. Most patients still display results for up to a year after treatment.

The procedure is very quick, generally taking about 15 minutes. It also requires fewer injections as compared to other fillers or injectables.

There are virtually no risks of an allergic reaction because of natural compounds that make up the filler.

Side Effects

As with any filler or injectable, there are going to be some side effects. The side effects of Radiesse are mild owing to the natural composition, some may experience slight numbness or tingling in the area of injection, minor swelling or bruising at injection sites, a temporary headache, and some patients report temporary nausea.

Radiesse FAQ

Radiesse (once called Radiance) is a synthetic dermal filler made of calcium hydroxyapatite and is used for soft tissue augmentation and to treat skin folds and wrinkles. Calcium hydroxyapatite is an inorganic substance similar to bone. No animals or animal products are used during the production of this dermal filler, and no skin testing is needed.

Radiesse provides a matrix into which the body’s own tissue and can add volume and grow. It is used for soft tissue augmentation, such as adding volume to lips and cheeks and can also help to fill in deep skin folds and wrinkles.

A small needle is used to implant the Radiesse into your skin or just below the skin. Topical and/or local anesthetic is used to control pain during the injections. The injector will walk you through the process and make sure that you are comfortable during the procedure.  Remember, we have treated thousands of patients with Radiesse and other fillers and your experience is important to us.  The results are natural-looking especially for recontouring the cheeks and jaw line.

The results of a Radiesse injection are immediate. Results typically last in the range of 6-12 months before a touch up is needed, much longer than the former leading dermal fillers. Individual results may vary based on age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity. We will explain how individual results will vary during your consultation.

There may be minimal swelling, which usually subsides in 24-36 hours. Normal activities can be resumed immediately following injections. Ice should be applied after the injection to minimize bruising and swelling.

A rare complication may be the appearance of nodules, which typically just occur in the lips. They usually respond to massage and time but can be injected with a steroid if needed.

Unlike other fillers, Radiesse can be injected into various depths or planes, which provides much more support to the facial tissues by replacing volume where it has been lost rather than just covering up the problem with superficial filler.

Our Nurse Practitioner is highly trained in injecting Radiesse and other fillers including keeping up to date with the latest trends and products to come on the market.  Radiesse is a difficult product to work with and many injectors are not skilled enough to inject.  We have treated thousands of patients with Radiesse and have the experience to provide the results.  Make sure to come seek us out first before seeing any other injector(s) who is not skilled in this product and technique.
